Day 1: Compassion Devotional
Devotional: Prayer is a powerful tool that unites us as a community of believers. When we pray for one another, we foster a sense of unity and mutual support. It’s not just the responsibility of church leadership to pray; we all have the privilege and duty to lift each other up in prayer. This collective prayer strengthens the body of Christ and breaks down unhealthy hierarchies. Remember, Jesus called us to make disciples and teach them, which includes teaching them to pray for one another.
Verse: Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them; and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. – Hebrews 13:3
Question: How can you make prayer a more integral part of your interactions with fellow believers this week?
Quote: We are to be praying for one another. And I believe we’re sending the wrong message when we’re only allowing leadership to be the ones who are able to pray.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of prayer. Help us to see the importance of praying for one another and to make it a regular part of our lives. Unite us as a community through our prayers. Amen.
